Come and join the New Zealand Society on the evening of ANZAC Day in the Penthouse Suite of New Zealand House from 6.30 pm as we remember those who have given up their lives for our freedom, and also celebrate what it means to be a New Zealander.
A complimentary drink will be offered upon arrival, with New Zealand inspired canapés served. We have a cash bar stocked full of New Zealand wines and beers.
The evening is a special occasion, and an opportunity for those who have been unable to attend the Dawn Service or the Cenotaph to take part in a moments silence, and to hear the Last Post. In addition we are delighted to have Paul Beaver, aviation historian, broadcaster and writer who specialises in the 1930s and 1940s with us as guest speaker. Paul is very much a hands-on historian with his own vintage aeroplane company, Monty’s Messenger Ltd, which owns and operates a Miles Messenger marked as Field Marshal Montgomery’s aeroplane at the time of D-Day. Other aeroplane types in his log book include the Spitfire and Mustang.
As a celebration of New Zealand in England, it is also a social evening, an opportunity to bring family and friends to the Penthouse, and to make new acquaintances.
This event is on Monday, 25 April 2016 with entry between 6.30 pm and 7.15 pm, and will run until 10.30 pm at New Zealand House, 80 Haymarket, London SW1Y 4TQ.
