History The New Zealand Society was established in 1927 as a dining club for New Zealanders in London. Since then, the club has developed into the leading organisation for those in the UK with strong links with Aotearoa. Our patron is His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh and our vice patron is The New Zealand High Commissioner Society's Aims We wish to promote the interests of New Zealand in the United Kingdom by maintaining and furthering good relations between the two countries. A wide range of activities is on offer of mutual interest to those from New Zealand and those who are interested in New Zealand. England and Scotland There are two New Zealand Society entities in the United Kingdom, one in England and the other in Scotland. Both organisations work together and complement each other's efforts in supporting members and running various functions throughout the year. Non-Profit organisation We are a non-profit organisation supported entirely by our membership base and also from the proceeds of regular events. Membership is open to those with: (a) New Zealand citizenship; or (b) British citizenship and either: (i) residence in New Zealand for a period of years; or (ii) A profession or calling, or a business, financial or personal contact or activity which shows a significant connection between the United Kingdom and New Zealand. Annual Fees (Membership runs 1 October - 30 September) Single = £25.00 Couple = £37.50 Single over 65 = £15.50 Couple over 65 = £22.00 Corp 3 employees = £75.00 Corp 10 employees = £125 (note: 1/2 these prices for members joining after 01 April) (Effective as of January 1st 2005) Download Form for the UK Branch
