History
The New Zealand Society was established in 1927 as a dining club for New Zealanders in London. Since then, the club has developed into the leading organisation for those in the UK with strong links with Aotearoa.
Our patron is His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh and our vice patron is The New Zealand High Commissioner

Society's Aims
We wish to promote the interests of New Zealand in the United Kingdom by maintaining and furthering good relations between the two countries.

England and Scotland
There are two New Zealand Society entities in the United Kingdom, one in England and the other in Scotland

Non-Profit organisation
We are a non-profit organisation supported entirely by our membership base and also from the proceeds of regular events.

  • reduced entry to most of our events
    - typical saving is £4 at a drinks event, and usually at least £10 at the Waitangi Dinner

  • notification as soon as our events go on sale and a reminder as they fill up
    - several events sold out early this summer, so these emails help ensure you don't miss out

  • members priority booking to popular events
    - we open bookings to the Winter drinks for members and their friends initially, with non-members able to book after an initial “members only” booking period. The Waitangi Dinner 2011 will also have a members priority booking period

  • emailed newsletter approx every 6-8 weeks
    - non members can open this from our website but will not be emailed with the link

  • discount offers for members only to NZ events and products
    - this year we have had offers from Toast festivals, KEA, First Festival Travel, SANZA

  • helping maintain an 84 year old voluntary & charitable society
    - we’re proud of our legacy as one of the oldest NZ organisations in the UK and your support means the Society can continue to celebrate New Zealand in Britain, and also raise funds for NZ/UK causes. Membership gives you a voting right at our AGM, and the possibility to join our active committee
