Christmas Fair & Drinks 2008

The following New Zealand linked businesses were at the Winter Drinks & Christmas Fair on Thursday 20 November. Please support these NZ related businesses!

Kiwifruits
The NZ Shop

A long time supporter of the New Zealand Society, Kiwifruits opened late until 8pm on the drinks evening, downstairs in the Royal Opera Arcade. New Zealand Society members were able to buy some of the new stock that has arrived in time for Christmas gifting.

The shop has a gorgeous range of Christmas gifts, tree decorations, calendars, music, books, jewellery and clothing as well as all the favourite foods from NZ.

Appuru

Paul and Karen joined us again this year; they source high quality, low chemical body & cosmetic products from many countries through their company Appuru.

They introduced us to a new NZ range of skincare called 'Antipodes'  which is based on organic avocado oil. Lovely packaging and a great Christmas gift set/offer. They donated a Trilogy Travellers set to our charity raffle.

They've recently opened a retail store in Pimlico, at 43 Moreton Street, London SW1V 2NY

Koru Greenstone

Johnny 's interest in pounamu took shape during an extended trip to New Zealand, where he was intrigued by the spirituality and message behind the traditional carvings.

Johnny has also learnt to carve pounamu on regular trips to New Zealand, where he visits his whanau. He runs a stall at Camden Lock Market if you missed him a the drinks evening. Johnny donated an infinity twist necklace to the charity raffle.

Bullet Coffee

Phil & Vicki roast and sell a truly Kiwi style of coffee (i.e. great flavour, fresh and fairtrade) and are frequently sponsors and guests at our events.

They joined us to sell Bullet Coffee, a great "morning after pick me up" for the mad festive season ahead. They donated some coffee and a coffee plunger to the charity raffle.

Bullet Café can be found at Snow & Rock in Covent Garden, and they were finalists in the Time Out coffee awards 2008. Early next year they will be opening a cafe in Clapham so watch out for news of that!

The Vault

Adam and his team were also with us last year to introduce us to the range found at the London branch of The Vault, a well known New Zealand design store. The store continues to flourish and has recently added online shopping on its website.

Adam donated a £100 voucher to the charity raffle, and has been very generous in also providing raffle prizes for other events. Be in to win £100 gift voucher each month by subscribing to their email newsletter - email The Vault at www.competition@thevaultuk.com  and be sure to enter NZ Society in the subject line so they can enter you in the monthly draw.

Lucky Devil

Emily and Martin have been huge supporters of the NZ Society this year, donating raffle prizes for many events. They donated 2 large bottles of luxury Linden Leaves body products and also a Mumara Art photoblock to the charity raffle.

Lucky Devil run two sites selling online gifts - one in NZ and one here, both accessed from the link below. The NZ site is ideal for using to send gifts home without the hassle of dealing with a UK post office queue; and the UK site is the ideal place to locate things you want and then drop not so subtle hints (via web links) to the folks back home!

Jasper donated 2 tickets to the sold out Dave Dobbyn concert, and these were deservedly won by Helen Campbell, our hard working volunteer president.

Comvita

For the first time we welcomed Sol from Comvita, who brought a range of honey related products from New Zealand and donated some Huni body cream to the raffle.
