The New Zealand Society ANZAC Commemoration Reception will mark the
111th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings and honour the sacrifices of New Zealanders who have served in times of peace and war.
This year, in light of the war in Iran, we have chosen to pay our respects with a modest and meaningful commemoration that encapsulates the spirit of ANZAC through mateship and camaraderie.
Join the NZ High Commissioner, NZ Deputy High Commissioner, NZ Defence Advisor and members and friends of The New Zealand Society on April 24 at Market Place in Leicester Square. Everyone is welcome.
You will enjoy:
- ANZAC commemorative address by Colonel Mel Childs from NZDF
- The Last Post poignant bugle call
- Solo violin performance inspired by ANZAC soldier Alexander Aitken
- Voices of Gallipoli poem read by playwright Arthur Meek
- Ngāti Rānana song originally performed by the Māori Battalion at Gallipoli
